Yinchuan is the capital of Ningxia Autonomous Region, China. Yinchuan is located on the Yellow River, it was once the capital of the Western Xia Empire. It's a shipping point for the products of the fertiel Ningxia plain.

It has an area of 4467 km and a population or around 750,000.

Yinchuan is situated between the rolling grasslands of Inner Mongolia to the east and the mountains and deserts of Gansu to the west. This region, the smallest in China, is little known and little visited about, making trips here an interesting and hard experience.
Yinchuan is a multi-nationality town including Mongolian, Hui, Manchu, Han and Chaoxin peoples. Hui has a 26.3% of the total population and maintained the traditional folk customs and life style that are unique to other ethnic group.

Yinchuan is a famous tourist town, because has more of 30 historical places including temples, pagodas, mosques, pavilions, and imperail tombs as well as natural scenery such as Helan Mountain, Shapotou and Sand Lake Scenic Resort (Sha Hu), etc.
