Tibet is a Plateau region in Central Asia. Tibet have an average elevation of 4,900 metres and is considered the highest region on Earth and is known as the "Roof of the World". Nowadays, Tibet is part of the People's Republic of China, and it is also officially claimed by the Republic of China (Taiwan).

During the Tibetan sovereignty debate, the government of Tibet and the government of the People's Republic of China, concluded that, Tibet becomes part of PR-China and whether this incorporation into PR-China is legitimate according to international law.
Potala Palace - Tibet
Nowadays, Tibet is a ethnically, religiously, linguistically, culturally and geographically, it is region situated on the north of India. For some people Tibet is the Shangri-La for tourists and travelers.

A land of exotic sounds. The best starting place to visit Tibet is Lhasa, the capital, where you can find the famous Potala palace.

Shigatse is a five hour ride from Lasa, and travel can be arranged from there. The main place turist in Shigatse is the Tashilhunpo Monastery, situated to 180 south of Lhasa you can find the Tibetan royal tombs in Chonggye.

Tibet Autonomous Region: It is situated at the Southwest part of China, with a land area of 1.22 million km2 and a population around of 2.3 million, in which, 95% are Tibetan nationality.

In Tibet one can find around 30 other nationalities, such as Hui, Luoba, Menba, Mouggul, Han, Naxi as well as Cheng and Sharba peoples.

Tibet Travel Permit: There are overall 4 documents required for foreign tourists who want to travel freely in Tibet.

1.- Chinese Visa, which you can apply for in Chinese Embassy in your country.

2.- Tibet Permit, which you have to obtain it in order to enter Tibet

3.- Travel Permit when you are planning to travel to the closed zones in Tibet which you can obtain it after you arrive in Tibet

4.- Military Permit, which you have to obtain if you are planning to travel to some military sensitive areas.
