The city of Suzhou is located on the shores of Lake Taihu and next to the Yangtze River at Jiangsu Province.

It is celebrated for its stunning traditional waterside architecture, pagodas and beautifully designed gardens. In 1997 the UNESCO inscribed the Classical Gardens of Suzhou in the World Heritage List. Currently, the city concentrates a great number of tourists every year.

Suzhou has historically been an important point for China's silk industry. There are 6.073 million inhabitants in the city in an area of 8,488 square kilometers.
