Getting there from North America
There are several possible routes to China from the US and Canada. The principal option is through Hong Kong.
Check the ads in magazines travel to compare prices and services. In general, there are a wide range of transporting services to the eastern Asia. The recent influx of Hong Kong Chinese into Vancouver has prompted an increase in competition and discounted fares from Canada. Chinese-owned agencies, may quote a fare of up to 200 dollars cheaper than the airlines discounted rates. Among North American airlines; Air Canada (www.aircanada.com) flies to Beijing and Shanghai, Northwest Airlines (www.nwa.com) to Beijing via Tokyo, and United Airlines (www.ual.com) to Beijing and Shanghai.
