Visa restrictions
There are some restrictions on visas for political reasons and these vary over time. The restrictions in force are:
- Nigerians haven’t gotten visas in Hong Kong since 2,004, apparently because the Chinese Government was offend that Nigeria extended diplomatic recognition to Taiwan.
- Since mid-2006, South Africans have had some problems with visas.
- Americans haven’t gotten visas in Shenzhen’s border since recent years, apparently because the Chinese Government was annoyed by US fingerprinting of Chinese travelers. This restriction is also valid for Britishs.
- Indians are limited to 10 or 15 day tourist visas, and have to show traveler’s checks per day of visa, apparently because the problems in the contested border and the worry of an uncontrollable migration.
