Admission charges
Almost always, visitors have to pay admission charge to enter to the tourist places. This payment is usually cheap for locals –just a few yuans -, but for foreign, the prices are higher depending on the relevance of the place. The sites with an international importance are obviously the most expensive. The Forbidden City in Beijing, the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an or the Great Wall are the best example of too high prices.
So, travelers have to be careful with the quantity of yuans that pretend carry with them when want to go to the historic sides (in American currency between one and twenty dollars per each place). Occasionally there is a special reduced charge for students who have an identification card provided by consulates.
