The Media in China




There is a grave government participation in the China's communication system, with many major media companies such as CCTV (television), the People's Daily (newspaper), and Xinhua (press agency). Despite of this, the media has increased significantly in recent years and is still continuous improving. Email has become cheaper and extensively available. International phone calls are expensive yet, but it's able to phone or fax to anywhere in the world, even from remote towns; and the international mail services are reliable to or from any of the Chinese cities.

Domestic calls are also very good and inexpensive. Send mails from the post offices within the country are very fast and secure. In quite a few hotels is accessible the Satellite TV in English and other languages. There are also some newspapers in English in the largest cities, like Beijing or Shanghai.
